American financial journalist Ted David was a founding anchor at CNBC in 1989 and spent the following 20 years there as an anchor on TV and on CNBC Radio.

Upon leaving CNBC, Ted was seen as a freelance anchor on News12 Long Island for 11 years until his complete retirement in 2017. He also was a freelance anchor at NYC's all news 1010WINS from 2009-2011. 

Ted was co-anchor of CNBC's Morning Call, Market Wrap and Closing Bell. .He has anchored news updates at MSNBC and has done weekend anchoring at WNBC-TV in New York City.

Before joining CNBC, Ted was an ABC Radio News correspondent for eight years. In 1988, Ted worked as an anchor at Westwood One's NBC Radio Network. A year later he moved to CNBC.

Ted was a freelance reporter and anchor at Business Week TV until the program's cancellation in late 2008. ​

A fan of daytime TV, Ted was seen or heard from time to time on ABC's former daytime drama "One Life To Live."

Ted has won a National Press Club citation for Best Consumer Journalism; an Ohio State Award for Excellence in Educational, Informational and Public Affairs Broadcasting, and the American Cancer Society’s GASPAR Award.  In 2016, Ted won the Press Club of Long Island's 2016 Media Awards First Place, Video Breaking News -- Roosevelt Field Shooting."

Ted's career in radio includes such great call letters as WABC, WPLJ, WCBS, WOR and WINS in New York City. Ted was news director and morning drive anchor/sidekick at WNSR from 1986-1988. 

Ted holds a BA and an MS in Education and has taught in NYC schools and local colleges. Ted was licensed as an emergency medical technician in New York State in 1981. He holds a certificate in Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets from the New York Institute of Finance. He is also a licensed amateur radio operator (Ham) with the call sign WB2TED.

Ted David and his wife, Jane, were married in 1974 and have two grown sons and a grandson, born in 2017. A granddaughter joined the family in late February, 2021.                                                                                                      Updated 1/22
